Benefits are paid weekly to
the employee and are
equal to 50% of the
average weekly wage of
the employee over the last
4 weeks prior to the
disability. However, the
maximum weekly benefit is
$170. Benefits become
payable on the 8th
consecutive day of disability
and continue for up to 26
weeks. The maximum
benefit of 26 weeks is
either per disability or
during any consecutive
period of 52 weeks.
Benefits are partially
taxable and depend on the
ratio of employer /
employee contributions.
