Americans Without Life
Insurance Taking Risks
A 2010 life insurance study
shows ownership of life
insurance by U.S.
households was at a 50
year low. The risks of not
being properly insured for
your family are significant
and should be discussed
with your insurance agent.
According to the 2010
study, the number of life
insurance policies
purchased in 2009 were
about 50% of the total
purchased during years of
the late 1980's. Nearly one
third of U.S. households do
not own a life insurance
policy and over 11 million
families with children
younger than 18 are without
life insurance coverage.
The risk involved for
families with young children
not owning life insurance is
difficult to understand
considering the low cost of
term life insurance in
particular.
